The David Award acknowledges those artists utilizing their vision, talent and skill to produce a message and bring creative solutions.

 

The PRIZE:

A cash award ($ amount TBA).

A 12" Michelangelo's David with engraved plate. 

 

The CRITERIA:

The David Award is given based on three criteria:

  1. Artistic Excellence & Craft - How well, in form, was the work produced?
  2. Content & Meaning - What is the story & vision behind the work?
  3. The Solution - What is the need being met, and how does the artwork creatively meet that need.

Nominees are recommended to the selection committee for nomination.

The EXHIBITION:

APRIL 2011 | SOZO INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS

Each nominee also agrees to participate in an exhibition held in April with the theme: Activist Art: Art+Message+Solution, during which, the recipient of the award is selected.

The David Award is selected by a jury during the April exhibition.
